The Marvel Super Hero Takeover 2012 was the first annual Marvel Super Hero Takeover party on Club Penguin. It started on June 13, 2012 and ended on July 5, 2012. It was the first time that Club Penguin did make a partnership with Marvel, and the first time when a party is commercial. (However, Marvel is another Disney brand since late 2009). It is related to the film The Avengers. There was a party room called Downtown Showdown. It involved the Marvel characters on the logo, that are from left to right, Iron Fist, Spider Man, Black Widow, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk and Nova, but also Ms. Marvel, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Loki, The Lizard and Venom.

History

The Marvel Super Hero Takeover was first mentioned on the UK Disney website. On May 7, Screenhog announced via Twitter that he is composing at least two songs for an event in June, which refers to this party. When Club Penguin updated on May 31, a meteor could be seen in the Beacon telescope. The following week, on June 7, the meteor hit the island at the Dock. Club Penguin announced on June 26 that the party will be extended for a week.
