Famous Penguins (also known as Mascots) are non-playable characters that fit into the Club Penguin storyline. Most of them hand out a special free item. For example, Rockhopper gives out an autographed background, along with The Penguin Band, Cadence, Aunt Arctic, Sensei, Gary the Gadget Guy, Rookie and PH. Normal penguins can also become famous by making videos or having websites.

Official famous penguins

Image Name Description
Aunt Arctic Aunt Arctic is the news reporter and editor-in-chief for the newspaper on Club Penguin Island, The Club Penguin Times. She is responsible for keeping all penguins around the island informed about the weekly news. She was also the first penguin to own a Purple Puffle.
Cadence Cadence, also known as DJ K-Dance or DJ Cadence, is a local Club Penguin DJ and a great dancer. She's a more modern penguin proved by her saying "lol" and "EPIC FAIL". She made the game Dance Contest, and is one of the only famous female penguins on Club Penguin other than Aunt Arctic and PH. In addition, she owns a Purple Puffle named Lolz, who was first seen at the Puffle Party 2011.
Gary the Gadget Guy Gary the Gadget Guy (AKA Agent G), is Club Penguin's inventor and scientist, aswell as former owner of the Sport Shop. He likes wearing a white lab coat and his special twisted spectacles, and enjoys eating Fish Dish Pizza. He is almost always seen drinking coffee. In addition, he is the genius behind most of the inventions in Club Penguin, and appears in all of the Secret Missions.
Penguin Band The Penguin Band is Club Penguin's official band. It has four members, who are G Billy, Petey K, Stompin' Bob, and Franky, respectively. They all used to work for shops around Club Penguin Island such as the Pizza Parlor and the Pet Shop, and they claim they would have still worked there if they had not become musicians. Franky is the only one who wasn't a founding member of the band.
PH PH (also known as Agent PH) is Club Penguin Island's resident puffle expert. She knows so much about puffles because she is the EPF's puffle trainer, who trained the Elite Puffles. PH is short for Puffle Handler. She's had a lot of involvement with everything puffle-related since February 2011. In addition, she has an Australian accent, according to the Elite Penguin Force game. This might also be why she wears an outback-style hat.
Rockhopper Rockhopper (commonly known as Captain Rockhopper) is a friendly pirate penguin who regularly sails to Club Penguin Island in his ship, the Migrator, about every two months or so. He is always accompanied by his red puffle, Yarr. When he comes to Club Penguin Island, he gives away a free item and sells other items to member penguins in the Rockhopper's Rare Items catalog.
Rookie Rookie is a very silly penguin, who seems to be very dumbfounded sometimes. He was the public relations officer for the PSA(until it was destroyed), and a novice Secret Agent. He is also the communication lead of the EPF, just as Gary is the tech lead. He usually makes more mistakes than progress in situations, such as opening boxes in the Box Dimension to early in March 2011, or letting a captured Herbert use his Spy Phone in PSA Mission 11.
Sensei Sensei (formerly ??????), is a penguin that first appeared during Dig Out the Dojo when the Dojo was severely damaged by lightning. He used to be seen at the Dojo Courtyard, but now he can be found inside the Dojo. He wears the color gray, which is not currently available to players. He is also the only penguin who has mastered all of the elements. He leads penguins to become Ninjas, Fire Ninjas, and Water Ninjas.

Semi-famous Penguins

Penguins that are part of the storyline but not appear as an avatar around Club Penguin:

Image Name Description
101 Days of Fun characters The 101 Days of Fun characters were the "mascots" for the 101 Days of Fun event. They were seen in the newspaper every week for the 101 Days of Fun. They also appeared in an ad for the Adventure Party 2009, and on a Card-Jitsu Card. However, they haven't been seen since the event ended in September 2009. There were 2 boys and 2 girls.
Bambadee Bambadee was a stowaway that Rockhopper found on his ship in March 2007, a day before the St. Patrick's Day party, just after leaving Club Penguin Island. The story(Rockhopper and the Stowaway) is featured in the Book Room. Bambadee had snuck onto the Migrator because the penguins on the island were teasing him because they were jealous of his homemade Friendship Bracelet. He also appeared in A Penguin Christmas Carol.
Coffee Shop barista The Coffee Shop barista is a brown penguin in Club Penguin who works at the Coffee Shop. She has appeared in two Missions, and in Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force for Nintendo DS. She is also friends with the elite puffle Flare, saying that the puffle was the only one who could boil water hot enough to make hot chocolate.

DS Dancing Penguin The DS Dancing Penguin is a character seen in the game Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force for the Nintendo DS. He is seen in the back of the Night Club dancing. If you tap him with your stylus, he will challenge you to a Dance Challenge. He appears in a few missions, trying to fix the Hydro-Hopper, however, it seems like he can't really keep the boat in shape (due to a number of times where he has trouble with the boat). He alsorefers to the Hydro-Hopper as its original name, the Ballistic Biscuit.
Jet Pack Surfer The Jet Pack Surfer is the penguin that picks you up and drops you in the game Catchin' Waves. In the book The Inventor's Apprentice, when you change into a wetsuit, the penguin that picks you up is most likely him, which means he was probably in the PSA. His name is currently unknown.
Pet Shop Owner The Pet Shop Owner(as his/her name implies) is the owner of the Pet Shop, and appears in some PSA and EPF missions.
Pizza Chef The Pizza Chef is a penguin who works in the Pizza Parlor at Club Penguin. He appears in several Secret Missions and also appears in Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force. He is usually very busy and asks you to deliver pizzas during missions. This penguin may also be Bob Crackern from A Penguin Christmas Carol, as the chefs name is currently unknown.
PJ's Owner PJ's owner is a character in the book The Great Puffle Switch. Not much is known about him/her, because when you read the story, you are PJ's Owner.
Rory Rory is a famous construction worker in Club Penguin. He is usually seen during construction, weather it be for a party, or other things such as a new game.
Sport Shop Assistant The Sport Shop Assistant was an assistant in the former Sport Shop. He was not the owner of the Sport Shop, as that was Gary. He appears in Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force for Nintendo DS, and helps you in the 4th mission. It is unknown what happened to him after the destruction of the Sport Shop, although he may have gotten a job at the Coffee Shop or Pizza Parlor.
The Director The Director of the Elite Penguin Force, formerly The Director of the Penguin Secret Agency and commonly known as just The Director, is a mysterious penguin who leads or once led the EPF and PSA agencies. It is highly speculated the Aunt Arctic might be the Director.

Book Penguins

These penguins appear only in books, almost like Semi-Famous Penguins:

N/A Ghosts The Four Ghosts are the ghosts that appear in the book, A Penguin Christmas Carol. They are all a "parody" of the actual ghosts in A Christmas Carol, a novel written by the Victorian author, Charles Dickens. Smulley is a fun loving penguin who isn't very mature. He believes that you can tip the Iceberg, and if you go through the whole game Jet Pack Adventure without collecting a single coin, you will get 1,000 coins at the end. He is friends with Bambadee, Scrooge, and Suneroo.
Suneroo Suneroo is a green penguin found as a main character in the book "The Spice Of Life" and was once mentioned in "A Penguin Christmas Carol". He seems to be the opposite of his friend Smulley, being more mature and organized.
