Pi Day (also known as Pie Day) is an event in Club Penguin. It started on March 11, 2015 and ended on March 18, 2015. It celebrated the mathematical constant π (pi) which, besides other important things, denotes the ratio of circle’s circumference to its diameter.
History
Pi Day first appeared on January 29, 2015 in a poll in Fun-Stuff section of Club Penguin website. The poll asked players about an event they would like to celebrate in Club Penguin. Initially it was expected for Pet Rock Day to win as it had the most votes for a while and Rookie’s Pet Rock was mentioned several times before, but later the Pi Day prevailed [citation needed]. It was confirmed in the issue 489 of the Club Penguin Times.

Trivia
- This year’s Pi Day was special because it happens on the third month of March, on the fourteenth day, on the year 2015 (3/14/15), which signifies π: 3.1415…
- Instead of snowballs, penguins threw pies.
