Events are celebrations or small parties that aren't really big enough to be considedered parties. Scavenger Hunts can be considered events, but usually they have a classification of their own.
Events generally don't change many rooms or make big additions to the game. Examples of events are the Popcorn Explosion and The Great Storm of 2010.
