Archive table opinion?

Hi HP. Could you give me your opinion on which table would be better for catalog SWFs (such as the penguin style)? The main difference between the two is that one has months at the top while the other has years at the top (For B it only has 2011-2014 because I made it a model of the german catalog). Remember me? Anyway - I'm currently creating a wiki for a virtual game which I also operate with four colleagues. One thing I've always loved about CPWiki is the customizations it has; it's not just a dull recreation of Wikipedia with some Club Penguin images here and there. I am personally uncomfortable with MediaWiki classes and selectors, as is the entire development team - put simply, we aren't used to creating CSS on MW. I've studied how CPWiki does it by viewing the source, although it is still confusing. Now I don't like to copy things, especially for an official wiki for a virtual world, but I am wondering how you would feel if we went on and used generally similar CSS? So far I've made some progress by studying this wiki's sources, as well as using some previous knowledge in web design. However, it is not nearly done. Being an active web designer, I know how much it sucks to have stuff stolen, whether or not the code itself was copied or even modified. I appreciate everything, thanks!

User merge and rename

Hello, Hat Pop. I would like to know if it is possible to merge another account to mine and rename my account back to the old name. Just to explain, back in 2011 I used to edit with the username "Juca", but I stopped using Club Penguin Wiki. In 2012, I returned to the site, but I had forgotten the password of my old account (it had no email set), so I created this new one. But now I would like to have the "Juca" username back, instead of JucaSLP. So, just to summarize, could you merge "Juca" account to "JucaSLP" and then rename "JucaSLP" to "Juca"? I actually typed up the article by ear, so it's not an official transcript. There are still mistakes here and there. :P Also, the section headers for each scene in addition to the stage cues (the italicized text between parentheses) were actually unofficial as well. I wrote them to make the transcript easier to follow. I would have gladly given permission to copy it if I was asked, but the issue here is that he did not even ask if he could copy it.

CPW Awards

Hey, I tried to reach you through IRC several times in the past week but you weren't available, so I'll just leave you this message instead. Mid-November is approaching and it doesn't seem like we will pull off the same format of awards we had for the last three years. It would be a shame if we have to cancel the awards altogether, so I'm going to ask you for any ideas we could have. I was thinking of just having admins pick a few awards for users but this is one of the biggest community events of the year so it would probably be wiser to get the community involved. Catalog Items Generator

Hi, Hat Pop.

I've noticed that you and other contributors have been working hard to add content to the Penguin Style and Furniture & Igloo Catalog pages each month, so I wrote a Catalog Items Generator script for the wiki to reduce the amount of manual work it takes to add content to those pages. The script works by reading the item names from the catalog's JSON file and outputting them (with gallery formatting) to a text file.

This should save people a lot of time that they would be spending on going through the catalog and manually typing each item name. However, the way it generates the image and article names doesn't always match up exactly with the names of images and articles on the wiki, so that's where manual work is still required. Even so, I believe it will help with the main bulk of the work.

Anyway, try it out for yourself and let me know what you think. It currently only works with the Penguin Style pages, but if it's useful, I can make a few changes for it to work with the Furniture & Igloo Catalog pages too. Let me also know if there are any changes you'd like to see. Although its item-bending skills are great, it still has a lot of development before it's ready to fully automate the process. But I believe this script can save your sanity.

I'm glad it worked for you! I've updated the script to work with the Furniture & Igloo Catalog too. For images and information on new items, the JSON files are a good place to check. By searching the item name, you can find information related to the item. For the images, check out the guides on rendering icon and player card and sprite images that Wolfgangs created for this wiki.

Also, you can find the current cover image for the Penguin Style and Furniture & Igloo Catalog here and here. I don't think the links change, so you should be able to upload them straight to the wiki whenever a new catalog comes out. If you ever have a technical question in relation to the game, just ask and I'll try my best to help. :]
