Moderators

Moderators are the people who work for Club Penguin (Disney Online Studios) and help keep it safe by banning players who have broken the rules. It is still questioned as to exactly how many moderators there are. This is confirmed by the Club Penguin blog. Club Penguin started with five moderators: Billybob, Happy77, rsnail, Screenhog, and Gizmo. In 2011, rsnail and Screenhog left to work more on RocketSnail.com, while Gizmo left to begin new things. All Club Penguin moderators have a badge in the upper-right corner of their player card. To become a Moderator, one must live near the New Horizon Interactive HQ in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada and be over 18 years of age. The badge is identical to the letter "M" at the upper-right corner of the screen.

Getting banned by a moderator is when you get a warning that you are breaking the Club Penguin rules and the moderator kicks you out of the server.

All known moderators are moderators that have confirmed they are moderators. Although moderators are famous, they do not give out backgrounds.

There once was a secret Moderator Chat on http://www.icebox.clubpenguin.com/ where they planned upcoming events. However, the chat has been moved due to many overly curious penguins finding it and getting in. Now, it's found on http://www.team.clubpenguin.com/.
The moderators' main accounts are all Ultimate Safe Chat, yet they can still use regular chat.
