If my recent actions went too far, I apologize. I would like to ask for some clarification on the "abolish portals" page that you set up. Is the vote set up so that the two options are to 'remove portals and use category pages instead' and 'keep portals'? I'm currently neutral, with the fact that maybe redesigning portals be an option as some of the talk has been on that page, but I am uncertain if it falls in either category. Somewhat seems to be in the middle. Please reply on my talk or drop me an IRC memo when you can.


Also, regarding the recent craze over your current position as network director, I have to admit I'm somewhat responsible for this, but the key thing is, I added a topic in the council that would discuss possibly "setting goals" for the wiki so we have a general idea of what we might want to accomplish in the next year. It is caused by the following lines in [[Template:Navbox subgroup]], in particular by passing two <code>void</code> arguments when neither <code>evenodd</code> nor <code>listpadding</code> are passed. Does the <code>void</code> argument have any special meaning or can we just pass some random argument like <code>void2</code> when calling a template? That could be a solution.

The SWFCabin widgets were there because we didn't have any other place to upload SWF files back then. We now have better places to do that which don't have malware or spam in them. Hi Sea. I've seen some blocks lately that seem like they're going over-the-edge a little.
 
1. [[Special:Contributions/Immahusky]]- Blocked for 3 months because he/she removed something they thought could be vandalism? That seems pretty harsh.
 
2. [[Special:Contributions/27.54.182.157]]- Blocked for 6 months because they blanked 1 page. Now it COULD have been vandalism, or it could've been a newbie trying to actually say that the page was nice.
 
Both of the users have only made 1 edit, and in both cases they might not have been ''trying'' to do anything harmful, so their blocks seem to extreme IMO. I thought after one offense people are supposed to get a warning? Then get blocked for a /short/ time if they do it again (like a week first time). So if you could unblock them and give them a warning/explanation or just shorten their block, i'd really appriciate it. I'm asking you about this because as I said, it seems way too extreme for new users who might not have actually been vandalizing. Thank you. I have noticed that there are many unused images in this wiki, so I'm really interested in handling them. I want to add the ones which can be used to the suitable article and remove the unneeded one. I apologize on contacting you on such poor conditions, but there are several threats in general to me and the stability of our sister wiki. Over the past hour, I have been getting messages from [[User:Slenderman|Slender]] on the "overthrowing of Swiss and TS." I for one do not take into mind such, as the majority of the "revolutionaries" are either banned or are just people who don't like our policies. I explained to them several times as to why I don't hold votes ALL the time, and said that "too much democracy is bad, too little is the same amount." I have even been taking "voting" into heights with almost every single action that is supposed to help the wiki there, i.e: my rpg game proposal, off site story storage, etc.
 
I do not know what they want exactly, be that either every ban be voted on (which is ridiculous), and I am trying to make the CPFW like this wiki in terms of how power is distributed. This isn't helping to my main goal as an admin on that wiki.

When I saw that the headers would be tested on fanon as well, it gave me the idea/reminded me about the friend things they had on there, I I was thinking it would be a good idea for the new headers as well if it's possible. In case you don't know what i'm talking about- on the old fanon social header, they had buttons to add friends and/or enemies. So, I was hoping maybe you could try to work with that in beta and see if it could work with the simplified header. It popped in my head as a good idea when I saw the headers on fanon a few days ago, and I saw the "add this user to your buddy list"- it reminded me that CP has buddy lists and such (and that's why I thought it was a good idea :P). Since Freenode recently enabled the $j extban type, I would suggest creating a global bans system for the CPWN. Here's how it could work:
*A channel (#ClubPenguinWiki-GlobalBans) where we could ban unwanted people on the network's channels (E.g. Catali/TCPS100, Spydar007 etc...)
*Then, on all the network channels, we could do the following: "/mode +b $j:#ClubPenguinWiki-GlobalBans" which would then ban everyone on the GlobalBans channel automatically on the network channels.
*As an addition, I think the network ban lists would probably need a bit of cleaning as well, as some channels have useless bans that are overrided by other bans. For example, the CPW channel has ''*!*@gateway/web/irccloud.com/*'' and ''*!uid13584@gateway/web/irccloud.com/*'' '''and''' ''*!uid13584@gateway/web/irccloud.com/x-aqzvadaogvbmongl'' banned which is totally unneeded. To ban unwanted people from IRCCloud, all we have to do is ban the part with the ''uid'' - this can remove awkward situations where our users cannot reach our channel because IRCCloud is banned. As well as IRCCloud, a lot of other free BNC providers have their cloaks banned multiple times, for example - ''*!*@gateway/shell/bouncerstation/*'' and ''*!*@gateway/shell/bouncerstation/x-jzxcuwmjhcvzbnwp''. There's also a lot lot lot lot of ''*!*@gateway/shell/bnc4free/x-(id)'' bans, which could be solved by banning ''*!*@gateway/shell/bnc4free/*'' instead of banning every ID one by one.

It's been over a year since the last time I talked to you, but I think we have some important issues going on currently. As we know, Club Penguin is shutting down, consequentially raising questions about the future of Club Penguin Wiki Network, even though a new mobile game is going to be launched. The Anglophone version of the website is very inactive, not only because of the game's decline, but also due to the competing Club Penguin Wikia. However, several other sites are also hosted on CPWN, including CP Archives (the largest Club Penguin SWF collection) and the only Lusophone Club Penguin Wiki. What are the plans for the future? Will the Network remain? Also, are there any backups of the website?

Moreover, I have noticed some technical issues lately. File uploads (at least on CPWPT) from computer don't work (an internal server error appears) and external links are the only viable way to add new images. Also, there seems to be some problems with the gadget settings, which don't seem to update. I remember the Network used to have a dedicated server. Has it changed? Furthermore, what happened to the HTTPS support?

Hey Sea. I wanted to say that, I think you and HP should discuss and pass topic four on the [[Club Penguin Wiki:Council|council]], bypassing the meeting process. Since you're both b-crats, I think that seems like a fair move, to be able to pass topics if they are positive and both parties agree.
 
I think this really needs to be done because... the council's ''dead''. I know, I know, It's hard to organize meetings and get everyone on at once and decide upon anything, but it's pretty much been a '''year'''. Now, I'm not saying to take the easy way out and schedule a meeting, I'm saying that it would be a good idea to pass topic #4 and revamp the council. It would be beneficial for everyone- nobody has to stay up till 2 AM their time to get to a wiki meeting(*cough* Europeans *cough*), nobody would have to wait a year to get results on a topic, morew people would be able to take part since everyone on the wiki would have access, and we could all still discuss the topics as we would in a meeting.
 
My personal idea for a council reboot would be similar to the council we have on [[shops:Project:Council|shops]]. Ours died long ago as well, but earlier this year we revived it in a new style. People can post their topics there, and the wiki has two weeks to discuss it and/or vote on it. Overall, I know you might not want to bypass the usual process, but I think it'd be the best thing for everyone, I don't see why anyone would object). Make sure you have a discussion with HP and you two can come to your own conclusion. Also after the revival, any other topics currently on the council could be carried over to the new style of on-wiki voting.
 
On another note, I was wondering if it was ok to set up a vote or something on the CPW that could be network-wide. A vote for all the network's users to discuss the possibility of a ''CPWN'' Wall of Fame. I've brought this up numerous times before, and I noticed Juca also added it to the CPW council. However, I think it would be best if a separate vote was set up so that ''everyone'' on the network could be a part of the decision, since it would involve everyone if it was passed. I don't care where this vote would be, a project page, a page under CPWN:, something in my userspace, whatever. Just please let me know. The vote would only cover the topic of ''having'' a network wall of fame, ''not'' any inductees- that could be decided later.

I am Snowstormer, but apparently I can't remember my password and after I moved the website I lost access to the e-mail I had in my profile, Shark and HP wanted to merge my accounts but they didn't have permission and I think I was supposed to ask you, but exams got in the way. We have “Category:Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls” too. It is caused by the following lines in Template:Navbox subgroup, in particular by passing two void arguments when neither evenodd nor listpadding are passed. Does the void argument have any special meaning or can we just pass some random argument like void2 when calling a template? That could be a solution.

Concerning technical issues and the future of CPWN

Hello Seahorseruler. How are you doing?

It's been over a year since the last time I talked to you, but I think we have some important issues going on currently. As we know, Club Penguin is shutting down, consequentially raising questions about the future of Club Penguin Wiki Network, even though a new mobile game is going to be launched. The Anglophone version of the website is very inactive, not only because of the game's decline, but also due to the competing Club Penguin Wikia. However, several other sites are also hosted on CPWN, including CP Archives (the largest Club Penguin SWF collection) and the only Lusophone Club Penguin Wiki. What are the plans for the future? Will the Network remain? Also, are there any backups of the website?

Moreover, I have noticed some technical issues lately. File uploads (at least on CPWPT) from computer don't work (an internal server error appears) and external links are the only viable way to add new images. Also, there seems to be some problems with the gadget settings, which don't seem to update. I remember the Network used to have a dedicated server. Has it changed? Furthermore, what happened to the HTTPS support?
