I have been proposing that we have a policy for early unblocks. This came to my mind because several users have been requesting that I unblock them early. Here's what I think the plan should be:
- There will be no early unblocks via request if a block is under 1 week, or if it is indefinite (unless discussed by several admins).
- There will be no early unblocks if a block is at least 3/4 of the way there.
- A user will not be unblocked early if they have a long list of a block history, or if they have under 50 edits on the wiki.
- A user will not be unblocked early if they have been causing trouble or being annoying, such as if they keep asking to be unblocked.
- At least two admins must discuss the block before they are unblocked.
Please let me know if this is necessary or if it needs to be improved. Feel free to improve it yourself.
