The Starter Deck is a set of cards automatically received by a Penguin once they talk the first time to Sensei, located in the Dojo. It is necessary in order to start the game Card Jitsu. With each starter deck, players recieve 9 Normal Cards and 1 random Power Card.
Trivia
- After the May 2009 updates, the Starter Deck was replaced by the Ninja Progress bar.
- Usually, when a penguin starts playing Card-Jitsu, they only get 1 power card. The possible power cards that can be received in a starter deck are the fire jackhammer card, the water firefighter card, or the snow Sled Racing card.
- Some penguins got 2 power cards from the starter deck, but this happens very rarely.
- The Sled Racing card seems to be the most popular power card.
- To gain additional cards, players can buy a pack of Club Penguin Trading Cards, which can unlock new cards, or start playing Card-Jitsu Fire.
- Sensei will give you another Starter Deck if you start playing Card-Jitsu Fire.
