This meeting mainly focused on the restructuring of the wiki in hopes of giving it a boost in traffic following a recent decline.

Recovery Act

Seahorseruler's Recovery Act proposal was to revert all the governmental changes on the wiki back to July, or the pre-merge era. There were various propositions in this act, and each were voted on individually. In the end, we concluded that we will undo any major changes made on the wiki in the last few months.

Vote: Recovery Act

Report Vandalism

There was recently been a string of spam account and spam page creations, and there is a report vandalism page that has not been used for years. The voting results were inconclusive and will be left the way things are.

Vote: Create a page for vandalism reporting purposes.

New Users

The plan was linked to LordMaster96's Recommended Changes (Report 1.0) and the original topic was found to be a very general idea. We concluded that the anonnotice will be changed.

This vote did not really have a purpose. It is included below for archival purposes.

Project:Social

Reeze proposed several ideas that could possibly get the wiki together on his sandbox. We decided that the ideas would be discussed further in the wiki forum before anything is implemented due to the lack of users at the meeting.

Vote: Should we carry out more community social features such as the ones on Reeze's sandbox?

Separate Archives

The original plan was to create different language wikis for the Archives Wiki. The issue was resolved prior to the council meeting and was therefore skipped.

Discussion Templates

The plan is to make all links to talk pages not a redlink so that it looks more professional. However, a bot is needed to perform the changes as it would flood the recent changes by creating thousands of talk pages.

Vote: Should we have discussion templates?

Wiki Decoration and Vector CSS

The Recovery Act that was passed earlier prevents this from being implemented until a new Vector CSS is made. However, a vote will be done in advance until a new CSS is done so little time is wasted on voting again. The idea is to make temporary CSS designs for the wiki for use to fit in with some Club Penguin party themes.

Vote: Should we change our CSS for Club Penguin parties once in a while?

Departments

The idea of departments is to divide the wiki into six bodies, each focusing on different tasks. This way, a department head that is elected will be managing the functions within their own departments. This is supposed to make the wiki get things done faster.

Vote: Should we have various departments on the wiki?

Music Database

The proposed idea would enable users to put music on their userpages. This idea was struck down as complaints of it being "annoying" arose.

Vote: Should we allow music on userpages?

Date of Founding

There has been a lot of speculation as to when the wiki was founded. December 20, 2006 and January 10, 2007 were possible dates prior to the meeting, but ClubPenguinMaster made a discovery here where a third date is possible: September 25, 2006. The results of this debate were inconclusive, and a community consensus will be done at a later date.

Newspaper Policy rewrite

There is no longer a craze in blog post publishing and the existing Newspaper Policy is rather harsh. Amendments have been suggested: all CP blog related content must go on the CP News Blog with moderation only, anything else can go on user blogs.

Vote: Should we amend the newspaper policy?

CPWN Awards Scheduling

The Awards are a month and a half away, and we have yet to discuss the dates. After discussion, we concluded that the schedule will go as following:

  • November 15 - December 1: Nominations
  • December 14-20: Google Drive form for voting, forum for vote verification
  • December 21-22: Winners announced.

New Main Page

LordMaster96 drafted a copy of a new main page on his sandbox. The only issue to date would the suggestion from Seahorse of adding more links for traffic purposes. We decided links would not be an issue. Apart from that, the general layout was approved in a vote.

Vote: Should we use this layout for our main page?

Remove Portals

The portals are not being updated and have not been helpful as of late. It was decided that the departments may help towards portals and currently will be left as is.

Vote: Should we remove portals?

As you may know, Club Penguin changed their logo a few weeks ago, and we currently have a new logo contest. However, no deadline has been set and this discussion marked a couple of dates on the calendar.

  • November 29: Deadline for submissions.
  • Next council meeting, or before December 31: Logos voted upon using preferential ballot method.

Speaker of the Council

The current Speaker of the Council is Seahorseruler. However, he has only directed 2.5/8 council meetings. This vote decided that a council speaker will be elected at the beginning of every meeting, which is almost the same as present except that the position was appointed.

Vote: Should the position Speaker of the Council be an elected position?
