(1) Free Membership Raffle every Month

Can we have a free membership raffle every month? Something like Soundwave's.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Yuri102212 (talkcontribsedit count) 00:00, 29 July 2012

Comments

  • I don't think anybody here would be willing to fund us with memberships. Once a month would mean we have to spend around $100 annually on 1 month memberships for the wiki (that would be a pain for one user to do). Less often and not in a specific time interval would be okay, but only if we have a user or admin willing to do so. --AdministratorNetwork staffError504 00:14, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Maybe 3-4 times a year? --Boidohtalkedits 21:10, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Actually it seems that toy codes would be better to giveaway.. Boidohtalkedits

(2) Reword a lot of articles, semi-automatically (Project Ambrosia)

I'd like to reword a few types of articles to make them less clumsy and easier to read, cumulating in human and semi-automated work. I will be making a bot, called ambrosia.py, to do this by TuxBot semi-automatically.

An example (the Top Volunteer stamp) is here. Tux (*** SERVICE NOTIFICATION *** clubpenguinwiki.info IS UP) 03:14, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

Comments

  • That's just stupid. What kind of lazy bum automates a wiki? -and might I add, you may be good at programming, but no one can simulate the human mind. Destroying the human element will make this long-sterilized wiki even more cold and forboding. At least I was a hands-on dictator that took time out of my day to get on the wiki. We don't need no stinking scripts! We have PEOPLE for that. --{{subst:Template:TSSIGNATURE/PERMA-TS}} {{subst:template:TSSIGNATURE}} 01:58, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

(3) Change the background to "purple"

It's not even remotely purple, but it's actually #3f34b4, which the color of the bottom line of the pixels in the banner. Error claims it looks purple and #0864af is correct, which is wrong.

I think someone's monitor is wrong. (I never changed the settings on mine.) Tux (*** SERVICE NOTIFICATION *** clubpenguinwiki.info IS UP) 21:21, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Comments

  • Could you also tell me why the "blue" around the Club Penguin logo your proposed logo for the Fanon logo contest also differs from everyone else? If it was my computer with the problem I'm pretty sure way more people would've noticed/complained by now, and I would be pretty sure all the logos would be awkward, and not just yours. BTW the wiki background colour is supposed to be the same as the one in the Club Penguin logo outline. I also tried on both my computers and I don't see the banner in any way (not even the last line) being #3f34b4.--AdministratorNetwork staffError504 21:37, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
  • What? The purple doesn't nake any sense to me --PenBlooeR 22:38, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
  • So now the colour isn't really an issue, but the header image itself is. Since it's related to this issue I'll merge my topic with this one instead of a separate post. There has been opposition to the new header, so I'll bring up a few options to vote, in preferential ballot form:
    • Keep the current header
    • Blue gradient only (current shade, repeat horizontally), move the top of the article area up to fill in the space.
    • Solid blue colour (current shade)
    • A collage of images on a white background with the blue page background. Collage will repeat horizontally, and will separate from the blue background with a thick black line.

More options may come up as we discuss. --AdministratorNetwork staffError504 06:32, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

(4) Innocent Smoothies Code Giveaway

This month I think there should be a couple giveaways giving away the codes for the fruit themed items. Boidohtalkedits

Comments

  • Has anyone bought them and is willing to donate to us? --PenBlooeR 22:44, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
  • I think they're only available in Great Britain, so only a few users could get the codes :P Cp kid Let's talk! 22:49, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

(5)Favicon for the Shops

Well, all of the other wikis in the CPWN have favicons, with the exception of Shops, which is by date, the only CPWN wiki without favicons. So, I think we should give the Shops a favicon. I have suggestions for the favicon such as Lavender or that triangular stamp as the favicon. If you have any suggestions, complaints, blah blah blah and more, just comment down below. --Welcome00 Talk 23:30, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Comments

  • I think it might be good to make a newer, or "re-vamped" logo too :P Cp kid Let's talk! 21:02, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
  • I don't think this needs asking. As long as someone on Shops can make a good favicon (convert it to .ico, must be square), it can be uploaded to File:Favicon.ico - it does not require a staff member to assist I think. --AdministratorNetwork staffError504 04:13, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
  • I think we need a favicon too. Something simple, though, maybe a shopping bag :P --TheBroMaster Talk to your master! 04:50, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
  • I definitely think we need a favicon! I actually really like the logo though :P -ShrimpPin 18:35, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
  • We have uploaded a favicon, it's File:Favicon.ico, I think...? --File:Estonia.gif Cylly1512 Talk Contributions 16:21, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

(6)Category:Items

I'm not really good at explaining things. But, when you look at Category:Items I think you can tell we have a problem. Over 3,300 of our articles are in the category, because it's on the Item Infobox. So I suggest that we remove the items category, and just manually put the proper clothing or furniture categories on each article we make :) Either way, we neeed to find a solution, because it's almost like the "Club Penguin" category that we recently deleted. (7) "Did you know" section in the homepage

Well, the wiki main page can be more interesting if we added "Did you know" section in the homepage. It can hold the user attention, plus it would make the homepage for active. Wolfgang (talk) 23:29, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

(8) Information namespace

It's been a very long time since we moved and the "Information" namespace has been of no used except for one page, which contains blog posts related to Herbert's Revenge. Because of its use, I think we should convert the Information namespace in archiving all blog posts from the Official Club Penguin Blog, since they have cleared their archives before, and probably will do so in a year or two again. What do you guys think? --AdministratorNetwork staffError504 05:25, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

(9) Additional IRC channel operators

It's due to the fact sometimes the channel gets out of hand when there are no operators around. For example, I recently logged in once and then faced five complaints of a user (I won't mention the name), trolling. There are some non-administrators I feel are on the wiki's IRC channel often and can be trusted enough to use the right. This is separate from the chat moderator right. As long as the administration feels that a certain user would be able to handle this ability, they would be a 'backup op', given only the +o flag. They would not be allowed to have the Op status whenever they want - they can only use it whenever there's a situation where a user needs to be kicked/banned. -- Error504 21:02, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Comments

  • Much needed. No ops on IRC currently. --HappyfaceNetwork staff (talk|blog|contribs) 21:31, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
  • You should also get new moderators. This "hurr" guy does nothing, at all. --TheBroMaster Talk to me! 19:10, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

(10) Comics project

<Shrimp> What do you think about making a whole series of those comics?
<Shrimp> Like the one you and NBF did
<GoneFishing> For funny pictures, I guess
<Shrimp> There could be a new page called "Club Penguin Wiki:Comics"
<Shrimp> People can submit those comics there
<Shrimp> But you could regulate which comics get published

-- Error504 22:45, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Comments

  • Unneeded, users can submit their comics to the funny pictures page. --PenBlooeR 23:30, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
  • You don't really understand. I guess I didn't really make it clear. :3 Each week there could be a comic strip chosen and that comic would be featured on the main page. It would also be placed on a Comics page. Even if users did not submit them, I think that it would be interesting to have comics. If not, we could have a wiki newspaper... With news, updates, the pin, featured images/articles, some blogs, etc... -ShrimpPin 18:26, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Oh, I understand it now. I like the idea of having a wiki newspaper :3 --PenBlooeR 21:13, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
    • The Shops have a plan on creating their newspaper, but IDK if they're gonna still continue with the project or not. --Welcome00 Talk 01:21, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

(11) Lighten or abolish some social-resisting policies

Compared to 2009 and early 2010, the wiki has gotten into an almost 'perfect' shape where most editors, including myself, would find it difficult to find something to edit. The only things that can be edited nowadays are when Club Penguin updates and current events, and two to four editors can simply take care of the whole thing within a few hours. Most of the time, there really isn't anything to do on the wiki. To get users to stay we'll have to change our function from being an edit factory to allowing users to get together and be social. Seriously, what happened to users organizing parties anymore? My proposal is that:

Unless we want to go downhill I suggest that we become more tolerant of such minor offenses. -- Error504 19:00, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

Comments

  • Also, this is just my opinion, but we should also encourage integration. As of now, everyone seems to be segregated in their own "cults". What happened to the times (before I joined) when everybody integrated with eachother? --TheBroMaster Talk to me! 19:07, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
    • Since the removal of missions this wiki has gotten a lot quieter. What I think this wiki needs is a group of admins that do actually log into the game and would be able to make contact with newer users easily. Some of the older users like Sea, TN and HP, who are staffers, but don't actually play CP are just currently overseeing us, but again, we need a couple of slots for users who do play the game. -- Error504 19:24, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
      • The problem is that we have two types of users/admins: Experienced wiki editors/maintenance crew that don't play CP... and people that play CP. Little overlap. We need to recognize the overlap. --refractor till my head falls off<staff />

(12) Voting Policy update

To prevent users who don't become involved with this wiki anymore from voting. This would be the default policy, with special cases exempting this policy from being in effect, should it be implemented.

  • To vote, you must meet at least two of the three requirements below:
    • Make at least 50 mainspace edits within the last three months.
    • Attend and vote on at least three topics in the last council meeting.
    • Have not been blocked for a Category I policy violation in the last three months.
  • Exemptions: rollbacks, patrollers, administrators, bureaucrats, and staff members.

Feel free to add any more requirement proposals in the comments below. -- Error504 19:23, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Comments

  • I say "Has made at least 10 mainspace edits in the past 30 days." --HappyfaceNetwork staff (talk|blog|contribs) 01:53, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
    • Seconded. --TheBroMaster Talk to me! 02:29, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
      • The only thing I don't like is the council meeting idea, because not all of the users can go to the IRC meetings... Cp kid Wanna Talk? 00:41, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

A user called Ronnp09CP made a new nice logo, which kinda looks more suitable to be our logo here. I was thinking we need to have a change in the logo we have currently. The new logo he made is here. --Wolfgangs (Talk) 09:09, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
