Tour Description | |
The Cave Mine was a room that was first opened during the Cave Expedition as a room for everyone. However, after the expedition was over, the entrance was blocked by a rock slide. It was later reopened to become a permanent room for members and non-members alike to celebrate the new game, Puffle Rescue. There were no games in this room. However, one may have earnt coins by digging, or alternatively throwing snowballs to the generator so nobody got in the dark. The former earnt coins while the latter did not. Another rock slide happened on November 6, 2013 and the room was closed again.
Digging for coins
One could use a Hard Hat, Snow Shovel, Miners Helmet or Red Construction Hat to dig up coins, by dancing. More coins were received when the lights were dim. The current known maximum amount of coins was 100 coins. Every New Year's Eve, there were a few special amounts of coins, such as 3, 6, and 33.
Appearance
A large pit was located in the center of the room, where penguins could dig for coins that are hidden (Amethysts that made up the Amethyst Pin in the Cave Expedition) if they had a Hard Hat or a Snow Shovel. During the reopening there were also free Mining Helmets given away. The Mining Helmets were now under the stairs. One could walk up to the construction hat and drill to receive a free hard hat. (This was possibly the only permanent free item stand in Club Penguin.)
In the middle of the upper side of the room there was a snowball-powered generator that lit up the room, if penguins did not throw snowballs at it then the lights would go off and the room would turn dark. The entrance to the Hidden Lake was also at the eastern corner of this room, near a small waterfall.
Glitch
During the Marvel Super Hero Takeover 2012, a random Club Penguin song titled Team Blue 2 began to play in the Cave Mine. There were no decorations and the music did not match the party.
