The Penguin Band is Club Penguin's well-known rock band. It is made up of four penguins, G Billy, Petey K, Stompin' Bob, and Franky. They are commonly found attending musical-related events and performing music. They are the only official band known in Club Penguin.

Penguin Chats: Development[edit]

The Penguin Band originated from Penguin Chat 2.[1] In Penguin Chat 3, there were three Old Blue penguins playing in the igloo. These penguins played the piano, drums and cello. They once played at the Night Club. Their sprites were later reused for Club Penguin's Penguin Band.

2006: Debut[edit]

The Penguin Band debuted at the Winter Luau playing at the Night Club. At this time, Stompin' Bob, G Billy and an Unknown Band member were the only members of the Penguin Band. During this performance every member except G Billy wore a Grass Skirt. The following month, the Penguin Band returned to the Night Club for the Valentines Day Party. At some point between these events, it can be assumed that the unknown member was replaced with Petey K or one of the members changed their color.[2]

The Penguin Band performed four times before G Billy invited Franky to join the band. Without hesitation, Franky accepted the invitation. Before it was time for the Wild West Party to begin, Franky was nervous and worried that he would mess up. After playing the first chord, Franky was relieved from his tension and enjoyed the rest of his time performing.[3]

The addition of Franky didn't slow things down, and the Penguin Band continued to play. Sometime in July 2006, the Penguin Band lost their instruments and had penguins hunt for their instruments. Those who did find the instruments were rewarded with the Band's first background.

2008 – 2011: Style change[edit]

The Penguin Band had a sudden change in their design for the Music Jam 2008. Leaning to more of a country-like style with matching cowboy hats, the band performed at the Iceberg and later waddled around after a performance for the first time.

The following year, the Penguin Band attended the Penguin Play Awards 2009 as guests. The band returned for the second and third Music Jams, performing at the Iceberg then waddling around Back Stage.

Sometime after the Music Jam 2010, the Penguin Band changed their outfits a third time to keep things fresh. When returning for the fourth Music Jam, their outfits were publicly revealed in the Club Penguin Times. During the Music Jam 2011, the Band performed Better Days at the Iceberg every thirty minutes. As usual, the Band waddled around after a performance Back Stage.

2012 – present: Modern Penguin Band[edit]

The tradition continued as the Penguin Band returned for the Make Your Mark: Ultimate Jam. Unlike usual, the band performed alongside with Cadence playing The Party Starts Now. Later in September 2012, the band released their first lyrical song titled "Anchors Aweigh". The Band's next few lyrical songs would be a collaborations with Cadence. In October 2012, Cadence and the Penguin Band released Ghosts Just Wanna Dance. In December 2012, Cadence and the Penguin Band would collaborate again to make Cool in the Cold. In celebration of the Puffle Hotel's Grand Opening, Cadence and the Penguin Band released Puffle Party (Gotta Have a Wingman). Following these events, the Band would make another appearance until the following year.

Some time after the Penguin Cup, Cadence met with the Penguin Band to brainstorm for a DJ3K replacement. This eventually led up to the creation of SoundStudio. The Penguin Band returned to the stage for the fifth Music Jam. They performed with Cadence on the Main Stage providing instrumentals. While not performing, the Band would sometimes waddle around and hang out with their fans.

In February 2015, Rookie announced in the Club Penguin Times that the Penguin Band was going to attend the SoundStudio Party to give advice to rising artists.[4] Despite these claims, the Band never attended the party.
